I blogged about hosting a grief-free Terraria server. I don't have comments, so I'm taking questions and other bits of discussion here. I can probably point you in the right direction if you need specific advice on a topic too, but I'm not going to be writing plugins for a lot of these features (at least, not yet). Part of the point is to get people thinking in the mindset of "the anti-grief plugins will always have weaknesses" and to work around them. The sad truth is that no system can perfectly detect hacked clients, and even then, you don't need a hacked client to grief.
Hi everyone, I'm new to both Terraria and Tshock, thanks for all your work and having me. The above link does not work. Has this information been reposted/updated somewhere? I understand that griefing cannot be eliminated but I would like to make it at least difficult. I thought the SSC system would do this, but it didn't work and the temporary Freezing was not nearly adequate to prevent the griefer from laying waste to everything. Please let me know some simple solutions to harden a publicly accessible server. This is just a fun little project with the kids and something I'd like to resolve without too much frustration. Thanks Fox
