Make the game function like normal?

    As much as I appreciate the idea of anti-cheat stuff, item bans, and so on for public based servers, if I am playing with a small group of friends that wouldn't abuse a bunch of things and be griefers and trolls, all the restrictions and blocks that are on by default are incredibly annoying. However, some of the features are things that I consider fairly vital to the entertainment value of the game. (Being able to start/stop blood moons/eclipses/rain adjust the time etc) are almost necessary and I can only seem to do with t-shock. Does anyone have a full list of the changes to make to disable all the darned anti-cheat stuff, or how to go about it? An example of a major annoyance of the game's anticheat which interferes with entirely legitimate gameplay... ropes and chains. In terraria vanilla, chains and ropes have infinite range as long as they are descending. HOWEVER with T-shock running even as a superadmin, the range is limited to my screen, I wasted approximately 200 chain before I realized it wasn't actually placing any more chain down... I was trying to make a chain ladder to a floating island so my wingless friend could get up to where I was. It's frustrating to me. I couldn't really find any other guides as far as how this goes, only people asking how to make things even MORE restrictive...

    We get this a lot, and honestly, it takes tweaking for each individual server.

    Understand that the point of TShock is to provide anti-hack and convenience. While these two might affect each other it isn't practical to stop every case of this. It's up to you to do things such as editing config options and properly allocating permissions in order to minimize these effects.

    Pretty much all of the major anti hack stuff is in the config and can be disabled.

    If you want the vanilla server, why not use the vanilla server?

    Uh, because vanilla server doesn't let you set specific times, start/stop rain, start/stop blood moons/eclipses teleport other players etc. I DID mention all that in my original post in the first place.

    Technically you don't want it to function like normal then ;P. But lets not go down to technicalities- that's where pain and suffering lies.

    As Ijwu said, most of the anti-hack features of TShock can be disabled in the config. Most (or all?) of those that aren't in the config can be bypassed with the tshock.ignore.* permission.
    If you find there's still things disabled that you want enabled, I'd recommend checking the command/permission list in the wiki to see if anything there matches what you're looking for
    Hope this helps!

    Yep it does help! Perhaps someone should compile a sticky topic of things to disable for people who are in my shoes. After all Ijwu did say you get that a lot! I can compile a list myself of what I'll be doing/changing to try to make the game function like vanilla, just with the extra abilities that t-shock provides if that could help you all out? And, it's not even so much that the anticheat/antihack stuff bothers me, it's that it's too restrictive even for legitimate gameplay. My friend for example, completely legit gamer, kept getting punished/disabled/frozen etc for doing too much damage to monsters. why the heck is the default max only 175? Endgame characters can easily clear 175 damage even without buffs. I can hit 800 with a critical hit using shroomite armor+sniper rifle for example. You might at least consider taking a look at your default max damage values, because 175 is PITIFULLY low even for legitimate gameplay. I dunno if it was a bug or not, but every single time she would attack 'Angry Nimbus' she'd get frozen/weak and a bunch of other debuffs, then I saw in the server window she was 'disabled for exceeding the max damage threshhold'

    175 max damage is an old, pre 1.2 value, and should be changed at will by server owners.

    This or, just turn off SSC? There is an value to change in the config to turn it off, this would turn it vanilla with tshock features.

    What? Turning SSC off does not disable TShock

    Could be helpful

    As celebi said, 175 is a very old, pre 1.2 value that hasn't been updated in a while. Change it to whatever you feel is necessary

    Pretty much one of the most important steps in setting up a server is to look in your config file and reading it. There are so many people who expect TShock to do exactly what they want it to out of the box, as if by magic. It's not that simple.

    Reading and editing the config is super important.

    Well, just to add my two cents, if you want to "normalize" your experience without sacrificing commands, open your config file and set these:

    "SpawnProtection": false,
    "RangeChecks": false,
    "UseServerName": false, (if you set this to true, your minimap resets often)
    "DisableTombstones": false,
    "TileKillThreshold": 90,
    "TilePlaceThreshold": 40,
    "TileLiquidThreshold": 30,
    "ProjectileThreshold": 90,
    "MaxRangeForDisabled": 99,
    "MaxDamage": 500,
    "MaxProjDamage": 500,

    What I have done so far:
    super admin chat set to 255.0 255.0 255.0 (Makes the chat white)
    Removed the admin prefix
    spawn protection false
    range checks false
    autosave true
    announcesave false
    disabletombstones false
    enablechataboveheads true
    1750 for max damage
    Permissions added to group guest: tshock.world.movenpc tshock.npc.startinvasion tshock.npc.summonboss tshock.world.paint tshock.world.converthardmode tshock.ignore.removetile tshock.tp.rod tshock.ignore.damage tshock.ignore.liquid tshock.ignore.noclip tshock.ignore.paint tshock.ignore.placetile tshock.ignore.projectile

    This pretty much makes the game run like normal terraria only you get the additional commands and features of t-shock. The whisper feature is particularly useful in my opinion. Thanks so much for making this all you folks.

    If you're going to list off what you did then please format your post. It's unreadable as a giant wall of text.

    Edit: He edited his post.

    I never said SSC turns off tshock... I said that he can turn off SSC to get vanilla style terraria with TSHOCK FEATURES.

    This is my post:

    Then I apologize for misreading.
    SSC still does not fit the original requirements desired in this post.
    Said requirements appear to have been met
