I just got an idea when I was making a pixelart, It would be interesting to have a few schematics that would move 1=>2=>3=>4=>1 making animated region. Using Worldedit to replacetiles might give it a nice effect (Rainbow torches/walls/bricks, spinning details)
So I guess it's not impossible. Just some commands that might be usefull

    /animregion info "region"
    /animregion set 1|2
    /animregion define
    /animregion next "region" <value (default 1)>
    /animregion back "region" <value (default 1)>
    /animregion list <page value>
    /animregion speed "region" <value>
    /animregion play "region"
    /animregion pause "region"

(Might be working with /region if easier or possible?)

Those are commands I would like to see in tshock in the future on few servers. Would love to make some animations (Nyan cat lovers would start buying terraria massively I guess XD)

You can basically wire yourself something like this using Advanced Circuits. However huge tile squares shall not be updated too often as they spam the network and might cause clients to lag.

Its entirely possible but not very feasible.

Might be lagging but small regions changing once a second wouldn't be that bad wouldn't they?I would just like to see somethign like that in the near future.
