    Hello,
I am curious about a few things surrounding plugins.

Firstly I am eager to know if there is a plugin that allows me to change a monster's health and damage, or it's spawn rate (not the global spawn rate).

And I was also wondering if there is a way or a plugin to punish players for dieing, such as lowering their max health or mana by 20.

    Are these things even possible?

    Thank you for reading!

So Redigit, the Terraria developer, is lazy. He puts the minimum amount of control on the server. It's a wonder we can even see players' inventories.
The second one is not possible.

There is a plugin called CustomMonsters, you can change monsters' stats (but it requires some deeper knowledge of the NetMessage and NPC classes).
As for spawn rates, you'll have to do that manually, i.e. calculate a spawn chance like Terraria does separately.

I recently coulda sworn I'd seen something on the front page stating something along the lines of a plugin being able to give you a server-side inventory that only applies to when you're on the server, but reverts to your old inventory when you leave; did Redigit add such server-side power this last update or am I just misunderstanding? Been a while since I was last into Terraria, recently getting back into it.

Yes, Terraria 1.2+ allows servers to have serverside characters and directly control inventories like that.

you can pretty easily change a monsters hp, but yo ucant have them spawn naturally.

I mean you can use a command like /sm, to spawn a monster with a custom amount of health, but again going back to Redigits lazy programming, the hp bars look mental, and go right out to the right side of the screen, depending on how much over their max hp they have.

granted you're not supposed to be able to have more hp than the max, but this game is about mods, keeping it entertaining, and the only people who use the vanila terraria server are ppl playing it on a lan.

First, I would like to pass a law demanding proper spelling and capitalization when claiming people who write thousands of lines of code are lazy.
There is absolutely no reason for Terraria to have checks in its health bars. Whether the game is "about mods" is irrelevant. Such mods would also be clientside and adjust the health bars themselves.
