You should visit noip.com and download their Dynamic Update Client, and make an account. Add a host, and viola your newly created domain name always point to your server ip, no matter how many times it changes. Just be sure to make people use your domain name to log on and not your ip otherwise they wont be able to connect.

Ok, I hate to say this but the UPnP plug-in did not work. I'm going to see if this NoIP.com thing works right now.

This probably won't work for me. I can't make a host because I can't pay for it since money is kind of a problem. Is there something that I'm not getting here? Edit: Let me try it first :p

Ive been using noip for a while now and never had a problem. you get 3 free dynamic dns names which people can use to connect to your server no matter what your ip is.... but first you have to set up a static internal ip address, and open router port 7777 (or whatever you want to use). there are tons of youtube videos on how to do this.

Nonono no-ip gives you 3 FREE dynamic dns names. like mine envysmp.no-ip.biz. and when people connect to that it automatically points them to your server ip. you just have to set up the hostname on the noip.com website. Dont forget you have to download and install noip's DUC (dynamic update client) so your domain name always points to that address... THIS IS CRITICAL run it before you run your server and make sure it connects properly. you will see 3 green checkmarks. to check if your ports on your router are open, visit canyouseeme.org and test port 7777 it will say success if the port is not blocked, and the server IS running on that port.

My IP has a X and so does my groups&hosts. What do I do? This is making me pretty mad. :(

that means that you have to update your host, and to update your host you have to have one created first. assuming you have created a host, follow my simple instructions below
    1. click edit hosts
    2. select your host
    3. save your changes

after doing this, as long as your router is ported forward, you can have your friends connect to your server - which will be the address you see in step 2 (your host). tell your players to enter this name in their game client to connect to you, and make sure you have given them the proper port to connect to (7777 default)

Either my ports are not forwarded or something else. When someone tries to join(including myself), it just lags and stays at the port screen. What's that about?

This means your router is not ported forward properly. you need to go into your router settings, and click virtual servers or forward ports (each brand calls it something different) and configure your port setup. be sure to open port 7777 and 7878 for the api there are TONS of guides for this in Google search results and you can also go to this site to learn how to set up your particular router http://portforward.com/ if you cant find your exact model, ive discovered that models NEAR to yours, usually use the same configuration options for forwarding ports.
